The Nath Yogi Lineage
Samir was initiated by Yogiraj Gurunath Siddhanath in 2012. Since then, he has been an avid practitioner of kriya yoga and continues to allow his yogic practice to propel him forward. Gurunath is a well known and respected Himalayan Master and belongs to the Nath Yogi lineage, the same lineage in which Paramahamsa Yogananda belongs. He states that each and every one of us must realize our divine indweller, whether it be through selfless service to others, raj yoga, bhakti yoga or what he calls "the lightning path" which is kriya yoga. He also stresses that as practitioners of yoga, we must remember that although yogic asanas and integral postures are highly beneficial on many levels, the ultimate goal is not to master all 84,000 yogic poses but "yogaha Samadhi", which is total union with divinity or the ultimate reality.
Kriya yoga is a scientific and dynamic system of knowledge, principles and techniques to assist with the evolutionary progression of humanity. Gurunath proposes that, "kriya yoga belongs to no religion, cult or creed", therefore anyone who is a truth seeker and would like to reap the benefits of kriya yoga, can practice this scared science. Gurunath's ashram is located in Pune, India, where there is retreats and satsangs held throughout the year. Gurunath also travels worldwide, including the US and Canada during the Summer months.
